Open Road Journey... On the Mumbai-Pune Expressway

It was the 24rd of July 2013 and the Indian Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall and high tides in Mumbai for the next 72 hours. The BMC disaster team claimed to be on high alert and advised Mumbaikars to stay home if it wasn't urgent to step out.

But what if you love the rains... What if you were dying to take that one drive where you have an empty road stretching for miles before you... and what if you had to get back to Mumbai from Pune...

You just jump into the car, take your rain playlist along, grab that awesome experience, love every moment of it and never regret it for even a minute.

The fog that made us feel like we were in the clouds, the green mountains with gushing waterfalls all over, the limited number of vehicles on the expressway and the pleasure of eating hot Batatawadas with Masala Chai made this an unforgettable drive.

The Open Road Journey in the Monsoons on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway seemed like a drive through heaven.
